The following weeks will see the entire PDT office divided into six groups and pit against each other “My Kitchen Rules” style, all in the name of raising funds for mental health awareness.
Each week one representative from each group will be tasked to bake up a storm and impress the office with their goodies at a weekly morning tea. Some treats from the first round of the bake off included Vegan Cheesecake with fresh berries by Laura and Flourless Chocolate Slice with Raspberry Coulis by Nicole to name a few.
The rules are simple; you vote for your favourite treat of the week with a gold coin donation. The treats are prepared anonymously to ensure the voting cannot be rigged in any group’s favour. At the end of the six week challenge, the group who has raised the most money (received the most votes) wins not only bragging rights but also the privilege to elect a Charity that works closely with mental health awareness to donate all of the proceeds too.
The Inaugural “PDT Bake Off” is just another example of the lively social activities implemented by the wellness committee that aim to increase awareness of mental health and raise funds for charity in the process. The wellness committee continually strive to deliver hands on, team focused activities throughout the year that shed light on the importance of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Best of luck to all six groups and stay turned to find out who will take the title of the first ever “PDT Bake Off.”
