About the Project

Set on the former St Columban’s College site just 6kms from the Brisbane CBD, this village is a hidden gem.

The second stage of works at the Village involved a major renovation of the existing heritage building “Highlands House” with the addition of a new Community Centre adjacent.

PDT designed a new plaza for residents and guests to sit and relax amongst the existing shade trees. Productive gardens introduced so residents are able to grow and maintain their own herbs, vegetables and flowers, whilst remaining in close proximity to the plaza.

A grand stair connecting Highlands House with the new Molloy building was designed to relate to the style of that era with a variety of flowering trees, shrubs and groundcovers chosen to blend seamlessly with the rest of the village.

“PDT Architects were engaged as landscape consultant at our new development The Clayfield. Their creative approach responded to the existing retirement community, with specific landscape recommendations to suit the surrounding environment, and hardscape designs tailored to the accessibility needs of those who will most enjoy them. Their service is highly professional, and the outcome was well received by all.”
