About the Project

The office fit out seeks to enable and enhance contemporary design practice, through innovative use of space, choice of material and overarching sustainable practices.

When PDT signed the lease for the new McLachlan Street office it was the start of a journey towards creating a new studio that truly reflects the practice vision and values.  Natural light floods  workspaces, and a sense of transparency, collaboration and style greet you on arrival.

Gaining consensus on a design can be challenging in itself, but when your client is 65 design industry professionals it becomes even more demanding

Outcome

The team took on the challenge, responding to its own brief to create an inspirational, vibrant studio that encourages creativity, community and transparency throughout the 1370sqm office interior covering two floors and an expansive roof terrace space.

The design intent from the outset was to emphasise the long standing honest and reliable reputation of the practice partnered with a commitment to innovation, creativity and design, through the relationship and transparency of spaces.

An interconnecting stair provides a strong visual connection between floors, activating entry and reception areas and adding to the sensed transparency between spaces.
