Having outgrown their existing office, SJ Higgins approached PDT to design the fitout of their two storey office space in Murarrie to provide a new home that could support the companies growing team into the future. PDT worked with SJ Higgins to deliver the design on an accelerated programme with concept to completion spanning just over four months.  

The design aimed to accommodate reuse of existing built form where possible including the internal circulation stair and refinishing of existing amenities. Planning was carefully considered to maximise natural light penetration through the office with use of glazed walls and open batten screening used for zoning in lieu of solid walls where practical. This aided in creating an open, flexible space to accommodate team growth over time as well as promoting interaction between staff throughout the workday.  

With company culture and staff wellness a key consideration, a large kitchen breakout space was included with direct connectivity to the external balcony on the upper floor. An operable wall provided connectivity between the kitchen and adjacent meeting room, the entire space can be opened up to accommodate afternoon drinks with staff or large client functions.
