About the Project

PDT re-designed this residence to centre on family life and entertainment and make the most of Queensland’s indoor/outdoor living lifestyle.

PDT interiors were commissioned to transform this existing residence into a home which centres on family life and entertainment, with a strong connection to the outdoors. The key to the success of this was to reconnect and link the different wings of the building and bring fluidity and continuity to these spaces.

The finished home provides contemporary living that centres on the outdoor living space.  A raised tropical lounge pavilion and a central teppanyaki barbeque activate the outdoor living, creating rooms within rooms. The entertainment wing is connected to the outdoor space via a footbridge over the lap pool which flows into the main living wing. The entertainment wing provides a multipurpose space for functions and events with its own kitchen for catering, his and her toilet, as well as a self-contained guest room.

The main house boasts large living spaces, dining area, five bedrooms, a sunken media room and gallery kitchen. Natural finishes, earthly palettes, statement furniture and rugs help define different areas within the open plan living. The upstairs library takes on its own character. Its whimsical design and plush finishes mixed with casual furniture create a private oasis that can be enjoyed by the family.
