About the Project

An immersive interactive multimedia experience, that extends beyond the physical confines of the precinct.

The Defence of Darwin Museum and exhibition space is designed to be a timeless and interactive community nucleus. Situated in Darwin’s Military precinct the facility has become a valued asset to the local community and visitors alike.

A place to exchange stories and fire the imagination and add new family tales to the record

PDT delivered the Defence of Darwin Museum on time and on budget.  Design for the museum considers the level of interaction the museum required for its permanent and visiting exhibits and includes immersive experiences such as the bombing of Darwin gallery.

The modest building structure has been designed to fit seamlessly into the surrounding environment and to enhance, rather than distract for the interactive experiences offered.  The spacious entry plaza creates a sense of occasion upon arrival while the floor plan allows visitors to move easily and safely through exhibits and the building.
