About the Project

The PDT team developed a design to be adapted globally for flight centre stores.

A great deal of consideration was given to ensure that the new design was able to be replicated and translated to multiple locations in various countries to preserve Flight Centre’s iconic identity. The design emphasises the “dreaming and inspiration” part of travel and encourages interaction between visitors and brand creating and excitement through an engaging and interactive customer experience.

PDT were briefed to create a new store design that presents Flight Centre as a modern looking, inviting retail space that facilitates customers to engage more openly with the product and consultants. This was achieved through the introduction of a “Discovery Zone” into their retail spaces aimed to inspire and educate customers about their trips, giving them easy access to brochures, scribble maps and consultants. This helped to create a more open, approachable, and collaborative retail environment. The new Flight Centre design minimises the barrier between customer and consultant, and showcases their product and expertise, thereby re-establishing Flight Centre as an innovative market leader in the retail travel sector.
