About the Project

The $110 million Queens Plaza shopping centre re-energises and excites customers while matching the craftsmanship and elegance of surrounding historical buildings.

The building design features an innovative combination of sandstone finishes, black granite, polished concrete and multi-dimensional glazing as it emerges from a huge site that boasts Queen Street Mall, Edward Street and Adelaide Street frontages.

Due to their ability to provide strategic and creative design solution, PDT’s input was fundamental in the successful development of the Queens Plaza shopping centre, a high-end, premier shopping destination with a sense of authenticity and place

The design brief from the Centre was to create a landmark building with interesting and visually interactive features to stimulate the customer.

PDT met the brief producing a timeless design that has ensured that seven years after construction, in an ever evolving CBD, the design remains current and continues to energise and excite customers.

Queens Plaza won the prestigious Property Council of Australia Innovation and Excellence Award in 2008.
