About the Project

Design to be a benchmark venue for state, national and international equestrian activities.

PDT was commissioned to produce a 10 year master plan and design the new State Equestrian Centre in Caboolture with a vision to transform Caboolture into Queensland’s home of equestrian sport activities.

Caboolture has every right to be extremely proud of the QSEC’s main arena, stables and associated facilities - it’s a beautiful complex that ticks all the boxes as a centre for equestrian excellence

The client’s vision  was to establish Queensland’s first international standard indoor equestrian facility, which would attract regular international and national equestrian events, music festivals, concerts, trade shows and other major events over a vast 30 hectare site.

To achieve stage one of this vision, PDT produced a design that promotes accessibility and provides an international sized arena for equestrian events with seating for more than 3,000 spectators.  The extended area hosts undercover rodeos and events with the space featuring grass and sand warm up areas, new stables and wash bays.  The arena has state of the art audio, access to lock up storage and food and beverage areas have also been incorporated to add to the venue’s appeal for non-equestrian events such as concerts, retail and trade shows.
