About the Project

A unique and flexible staff retreat that evokes the ambience of a contemporary tropical resort.

As part of Telstra’s ‘One Brisbane’ amalgamation, PDT was asked to create a unique and versatile staff retreat.  The retreat integrates internal and external key destination zones – including a sun deck, boardwalk and an alfresco dining area. A neutral brown palette connects with nature while a subtle weave pattern reflects the tropics. Renewable, hard wearing materials promote long-term sustainability and low maintenance costs with a subtropical planting palette reflective of the overall resort feel of the space.

We wanted to create an engaging and relaxing area that took advantage of the Brisbane climate. Our people are using the space for lunch, informal meetings, team functions, recreation and are even taking family and friends to visit. Our employees say it’s just like being at a five star resort

PDT achieved a positive result for the client that has resulted in the development of a popular staff and internal event space designed for spatial and functional flexibility.  The overall result truly reflects Queensland’s location in the sub tropics and evokes a resort feel, in an inner city rooftop environment.
