Caloundra Hospital was re-purposed as a Community Health and Palliative Care facility following the opening of the new Sunshine Coast University Hospital. The refurbishment is a comforting and welcoming environment that’s rich in community values and cultural wellbeing.

Majority of the existing hospital was vacated, PDT Architects refurbished and upgraded the existing buildings to incorporate a bespoke Palliative Care Unit, increasing the existing beds. The Community Health also includes a Minor Injuries Clinic, Child Development and Health Clinic, Respite Unit and Outpatient Facility.

The new fit-out if unlike a typical clinical hospital, it has homely Palliative Care patient rooms and connections to nature through a major central courtyard. The Caloundra Health Services has been transformed into a reputable, primary care facility for the Sunshine Coast Community and we’re excited to watch it thrive.
